Snail Graffiti: Slow Art?

Slinkachu, a London-base artist, is working on his project, “Inner City Snail – A slow-moving street art project” for awhile now and is currently offering Extreme Home Makeovers to every snail he sees.

His project blog gives very little detail, but the media have started to notice him. He had a similar project (in terms of size), “Little People – A tiny art project” on which we have a little more info, but I’m looking forward to seeing it unfold.

Of course, people are already protesting (comment found in the London Metro)

The toxic solvents in his paints will be causing the snails pain as the pass through the shell. Time he was painted and poisoned!” says Ours Ecret, Sydney, Australia.

We’re seeing progressively more urban art projects, especially in Montreal, that are painted on sidewalks, crosswalks, etc. It’s a form of art that is lots of fun to discover, and where the level of inspiration and imagination is refreshing.
