Your suitcase’s contents, pictured flat. Simple description for the Is This Your Luggage? project.
It isn’t ours, but we haven’t been able to find the name of the project’s photographer, male or female (rather difficult to know if lunalaboo@googlemail.com is a woman or a man).
He (or she) goes to auctions where bags that were unclaimed or abandoned at airports wind up. He (or she) buys them and takes pictures of the contents. The goal? To find the owner AND/OR to satisfy some voyeuristic tendencies.
The result is interesting, visually. The website is simple (but we’re disappointed that there are only 5 suitcases) and we go see it to… why, exactly?
I think it’s a good idea, I would have liked to know who is behind it.
Geek break: a quick WHOIS search for the domain name gives us the name of its owner: Kathryn Hopkins of London… would it be the Guardian’s journalist?…
