After Boomers and Millenials: Generation Alpha is coming

Born between 2010 and 2024, Generation Alpha is the next wave that will hit all markets in the next decade. Are you ready?

One out of 7 people is part of Generation Alpha. In 2020, the oldest are 10-years-old, but as we all know, they age so quickly!

Still, they are already part of your reality as a brand, as a broadcaster and as a media.

They are already influencing purchasing power in your house (you know you’ve been influenced by a 6-year-old, don’t deny it!) and they will shape what the future will look like.

Are you considering them in your current or upcoming content strategy?

McCrindle, a consultancy based in Australia, has recently released a great and comprehensive report on this new generation.

In it we learn (don’t fall off your chair when reading this):

  • There are 2.8M weekly births of Generation Alpha members
  • They will be 2.2 billions by 2025
  • They are also called Generation Glass, Upagers, The Alphas, Global Gen and Multi-modals

It will be the largest generation, and they will live longer. Of course, being born today means their grasp of technology will be like nothing we’ve ever seen, they are the earliest adopters of all.

“This generation will stay in education longer, start their earning years later and so stay at home with their parents for longer than was previously the case.” (source: McCrindle Report)

This report is a must-read and helps you discover who they are right now, but what they will most surely become as consumers, of content and products.

Get to learn about them today, and let’s embrace Generation Alpha!
